Could Conor McGregor vs. Frankie Edgar happen in 2019? | MMAWeekly.com
Love Frankie, he's a future member of the UFC Hall of Fame, for sure.
However, his stock is down, due to the big KO loss to Ortega and the loss to Holloway.
Frankie is 38, and clearly in the sunset of his career.
So, with those facts in mind, of all the exciting challenges currently available, why choose Frankie?
Once again, it looks like the ConMan is being protected and shielded from certain, more dangerous fighters, like Gaethje, Diaz, Masvidal, etc.
Uncle Dana clearly did it when he said the ConMan was too small for Masvidal, (which wasn't an issue before the Nate Diaz fight.).
Now, Kavanagh is doing the same here, by picking a guy on the slide; a guy too old, with a shorter reach, and not a genuine strike threat to the ConMan. It's not a good look for him.
